About FluoSolv® 72DE
FluoSolv® 72DE is a high-performance azeotropic solvent blend engineered as a direct, drop-in replacement for 3M™ Novec™ 72DE Engineered Fluid. Formulated from methyl nonafluorobutyl ether, ethyl nonafluorobutyl ether, and trans-1,2-dichloroethylene (t-DCE), FluoSolv® 72DE combines high solvency, low surface tension, nonflammability, and stable composition during evaporation and boiling for demanding vapor-degreasing and immersion-cleaning processes.
Designed for medium- to heavy-duty precision cleaning, FluoSolv® 72DE effectively removes oils, greases, waxes, machining fluids, and other difficult organic soils while providing excellent wetting and penetration into complex component geometries. Its zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), low Global Warming Potential (GWP), and broad material compatibility make it an effective alternative to legacy ozone-depleting and chlorinated cleaning solvents.
FluoSolv® 72DE can also be used in selected specialty solvent, coating, and lubricant-deposition applications requiring increased solvency.
