ABOUT FLUOSOLV® 649
FluoSolv® 649 is a high-performance dielectric heat-transfer fluid engineered as a direct, drop-in replacement for 3M™ Novec™ 649 Engineered Fluid. Designed for advanced thermal-management applications, FluoSolv® 649 combines low viscosity, very low surface tension, electrical insulation, nonflammability, and a 49°C (120°F) boiling point for efficient single-phase and two-phase heat transfer.
Its dielectric properties allow the fluid to be used in applications involving direct contact with electrical and electronic components, while its low boiling point makes it particularly well suited for two-phase cooling systems that utilize latent heat during vaporization. FluoSolv® 649 also provides a GWP of 1 and zero ozone depletion potential, offering favorable environmental performance compared with many legacy HFC and high-GWP thermal-management fluids.
