About NuEtch E3
NuEtch E3 is a heavy-duty alkaline liquid etchant engineered for immersion etching of aluminum and glass. Its high-alkalinity chemistry provides effective surface etching while an integrated surfactant system helps remove soils, improve wetting and promote consistent treatment across the workpiece.
Unlike conventional hydrofluoric-acid-based glass and aluminum etchants, NuEtch E3 contains no hydrofluoric acid or other fluoride chemistry. This provides manufacturers with an alternative approach to aggressive surface preparation while maintaining effective etching performance over a broad range of operating conditions.
NuEtch E3 can be used from ambient temperature through 180°F, with concentration, temperature and dwell time adjusted according to the substrate, desired etch profile and degree of surface contamination. Heavily contaminated surfaces may be precleaned before etching when necessary. The formulation does not attack stainless steel and is also suitable for use with most plastic-resin equipment materials.
