About NuEtch E2
NuEtch E2 is a heavy-duty liquid alkaline etchant formulated for controlled etching of aluminum in immersion processes. Its high-caustic chemistry efficiently removes surface material while preparing aluminum components for subsequent finishing operations.
A key feature of NuEtch E2 is its heavily gluconated formulation. The sequestration system helps manage dissolved aluminum and process contaminants, allowing significantly longer bath life than conventional alkaline etchants. Under appropriate operating conditions, NuEtch E2 can provide up to 5–10 times the tank life of standard etching solutions.
NuEtch E2 is designed for use as an early process stage in both anodizing and conversion-coating operations. It operates at 5–10% by volume from ambient temperature through 180°F, with typical immersion times ranging from 5 seconds to 5 minutes. For heavily contaminated components, a separate alkaline cleaning stage may be used before etching.
