About DeSmut NS3
DeSmut NS3 is a highly acidic, non-fuming desmut and etching solution engineered for aluminum, aluminum alloys, stainless steel and titanium. It is particularly effective for removing the difficult smut residues left on aluminum surfaces after alkaline etching, restoring a clean and chemically active surface for subsequent finishing operations.
Designed as a safer alternative to concentrated fuming nitric acid traditionally used for desmutting, DeSmut NS3 provides aggressive surface conditioning without the heavy fuming associated with conventional nitric-acid processes. The formula is designed to work approximately twice as fast as fuming nitric acid, helping improve process throughput while simplifying operator handling.
DeSmut NS3 can also serve as an etchant and passivation chemistry for selected aluminum, stainless-steel and titanium applications. It performs effectively at ambient temperature and can be used on demanding aluminum components, including propellers and other heavily processed alloy surfaces.
