About NuKoat 55
NuKoat 55 is a liquid iron-phosphate cleaner and conversion coating designed to clean and phosphate metal surfaces in a single processing step. It produces a thin, amorphous conversion coating that provides an effective foundation for subsequent liquid paint, powder-coat and spray-coating systems.
NuKoat 55 combines cleaning, surface conditioning and iron phosphating to simplify pretreatment operations while improving corrosion resistance and paint adhesion. Its enhanced wetting package reduces surface tension, allowing the cleaner and conversion-coating chemistry to penetrate the metal surface more effectively and produce a cleaner, more uniform phosphate layer.
The product is suitable for steel and mixed-metal processing, including galvanized steel, zinc and aluminum. NuKoat 55 can be applied by either spray or immersion and is designed for both three-stage and five-stage pretreatment systems. Its iron-phosphate chemistry provides corrosion-resistant pretreatment on steel without the use of molybdates or hydrofluoric acid.
