About NuGenTec CitraPass
NuGenTec CitraPass is a phosphate-free, biodegradable acidic detergent and stainless steel passivation solution formulated around citric-acid chemistry. It combines cleaning and passivation in a single process, removing organic and inorganic residues while preparing stainless surfaces for formation of a strong corrosion-resistant passive layer.
Deep-penetrating cleaning components remove grease, fingerprints, soils, metal oxides, scale and salts before and during passivation. Low surface tension promotes thorough surface contact, allowing CitraPass to remove free iron while encouraging rapid formation of the chromium oxide layer responsible for stainless steel corrosion resistance.
Designed as a safer alternative to conventional nitric-acid passivation solutions, CitraPass is used at 30% in water in soak or ultrasonic processes. Temperature-dependent cycle times provide flexibility from ambient-temperature processing through accelerated high-temperature passivation.
